Unraveling Trust: Something Up Your Sleeve (Reimagined) | Music Video

by Christopher Louie

When I wrote “Something Up Your Sleeve,” I wanted to explore that creeping feeling we all dread—the slow shift in a relationship where something just feels off. You start noticing small changes, moments that don’t add up, and before you know it, the person you thought you knew seems distant and unfamiliar.

For the music video, I wanted to capture that tension visually—how suspicion and silence can create a space between two people, even when they’re still physically close. Intimate scenes were depicted in everyday places: shared luxury home, late-night dinners, quiet corners. It’s about those subtle signs—glances that avoid eye contact, conversations that feel forced, the quiet aftermath of arguments that leave everything unresolved.

There’s no big dramatic reveal in the video because sometimes the hardest truths are the ones left unsaid. Instead, it’s about the emotional weight of growing apart, the uncertainty of what’s really going on beneath the surface. Watching the video, I hope people feel that mix of confusion, hurt, and the need for answers that I wanted to put into the song.

“Something Up Your Sleeve” is one of the hidden gems on my original Volume One (I Left You Before You Could Leave Me) album, and this video brings that story to life in a way that’s raw and honest. I’m really excited for people to see it and, hopefully, see a little of their own experiences reflected in it.
