For the official music video for Whispers Of Memories (Velvet Mix), I wanted to bring back a pair of familiar characters that I’d used before. I’d always planned on revisiting them someday in a full-length music video, and this project felt like the perfect opportunity to finally do that. These characters originally appeared on the cover of my “Winter Rhapsody Volume Four (Aurora Nocturne)” album.
The earlier music videos for the two other versions of “Whispers Of Memories”— the “2026 Edition” and “Dream Mix”— had already established the core themes and imagery of the poem. Floating dandelion seeds, butterflies, and birds all return in this version because they are an important part of the song’s visual identity. Instead of replacing those ideas, this video explores them once again through the story of the two characters, offering a fresh perspective while staying true to the heart of the poem.
The first music video for “Whispers Of Memories (2026 Edition)” was a reenactment of the video I released last year for the “Whispers Of Memories (Reimagined)” track. This project which features a new remake of that video is part of an effort to bring higher-quality visuals to some of the fan-favorite songs from my own music catalog. This project’s aim is to create a new visual experience that provides a general portrayal of memories, emotions, and the connection between two characters that many people can relate to in their own way.
When I created the idea for the music video of “Whispers Of Memories (Velvet Mix),” I wanted to make something new instead of simply repeating the style and ideas from the first two music videos. At the same time, I wanted to keep the important elements that represent the heart of the poem. Because of this, the video still includes images of floating dandelion seeds, ghostly butterflies, and the main character serenading to birds. The idea is to help show his feelings of love, sadness, and longing as he tries to send his thoughts and messages to his former lover. Whether the messages are being carried by the dandelions, butterflies or birds in a real way or through a deeper spiritual connection, the video focuses on his hope that his words and emotions can somehow reach the person he misses.
The poem can be understood and interpreted in multiple ways, depending on how the listener connects with the story. It could be about a couple being separated by distance, perhaps because of a breakup or a need for some time apart. The separation could also be due to death, where one person is no longer physically present but their memories and emotional connection still remain. For this “Whispers Of Memories (Velvet Mix)” music video, I wanted the narrative to focus on the main character’s mourning of the death of the woman he loved. By choosing this interpretation, the video explores his grief, his feelings of loss, and his attempt to hold on to the love and memories they shared even after she is gone.
While the first music video for the “Whispers Of Memories” EP was set entirely during the day and the second music video took place completely at night, I wanted this video to stand apart from those two by showing both daytime and nighttime scenes. Using both settings allows the story to show different emotions and create a stronger contrast between moments of warmth, memories, sadness, and reflection.
For the visual style of the video, I was inspired by a fascination with traditional luxury homes, especially those featuring large French doors that open into private gardens and courtyards. I wanted the home setting to feel elegant, peaceful, and personal, creating a space where the characters’ memories and emotions could naturally exist. The garden and courtyard also help create a connection between the inside world of the home and the outside world where the main character sends his thoughts and messages to his lost love.
I also included a bedroom scene where the doors are opened toward the courtyard and the curtains gently move with the wind. This moment was created to show a softer and more emotional side of the story. The movement of the curtains and the open space represent the feeling of something that is still present but cannot be touched, reflecting the main character’s memories and his connection with the woman he has lost.
The outfits worn by the characters in this video were carefully chosen to support the story and the emotions being shown. The woman wears a light purple, silk-like dress to highlight her beauty, softness, and elegance. The flowing fabric helps create a dream-like and ghostly appearance, making her feel as though she exists between the real world and the spiritual world. Silk has also been valued in many ancient cultures, where its smooth and glowing appearance was believed to have a connection with spiritual energy. This made it a fitting choice for her character, as she appears as a memory and a ghostly presence throughout the video.
The male protagonist wears a simple blue suit with a white dress shirt, sometimes paired with a blue tie. His clothing represents a sense of confidence, success, and a refined lifestyle. The clean and formal appearance shows him as a man who carries himself with pride and strength, while also creating a contrast with the emotional pain he is experiencing after losing the woman he loves.
It was also important to include scenes showing the couple’s intimate moments together. These scenes are presented in a tasteful and emotional way, showing the memories that continue to live inside the main character’s mind. They allow the audience to understand the relationship they shared and why her absence has affected him so deeply. These memories show that she was not just someone from his past, but someone who played an important role in his life. Her loss continues to impact his present, shaping his emotions, his thoughts, and the way he experiences the world around him.
This R&B and soulful version of the song includes several solo saxophone sections throughout the track, which inspired me to include scenes of the male character playing the saxophone. In the previous two music videos, string instruments such as the guitar were featured during important musical moments, so I wanted this video to continue that same idea by showing the main character expressing himself through an instrument. Since the saxophone plays an important role in this version of the song, it felt natural for the character to be connected to it.
The story also suggests that the male character is a musician and a creative artist. This is shown through the scene where he records music inside a studio while playing the saxophone. This moment gives the audience more understanding of who he is and shows that music is an important part of his life. The saxophone becomes more than just an instrument; it becomes a way for him to express his emotions, process his pain, and communicate feelings that he cannot easily say through words.
However, near the end of the video, one of the final scenes shows a black saxophone case left on the ground beside his car as he prepares to leave. Similar to the message shown in the previous two music videos, this image represents a turning point for the main character. By leaving his saxophone behind, the scene suggests that he is ready to accept what happened and begin moving forward with his life. The moment does not mean that he has forgotten the woman he loved or that his memories no longer matter. Instead, it shows that he has reached a place where he can carry those memories while continuing to live. Grieving is a natural part of losing someone, but remaining trapped in sadness forever prevents a person from experiencing life again. The ending represents his choice to heal, move forward, and find peace while still honoring the love they shared.
