As I prepare to release the official music video for “At A Crossroads (Instrumental),” I find myself reflecting on the emotional terrain that inspired its creation. The piece belongs to my upcoming fifth full-length instrumental album, Winter Rhapsody Volume 5: Moonlit Lanterns, a collection arriving on Chinese New Year, February 17, 2026. This project reimagines ten previously written songs as instrumental compositions, now carried by the gentle breath of bamboo flute and the expressive character of East Asian string instruments.
“At A Crossroads (Instrumental)” centers on a familiar moment many people encounter—the pivotal instant when a relationship stands on uncertain ground. The poem behind the track explores the weight of confronting a major decision: whether to reach toward what once was or to step forward into what might be. It examines the quiet grief that lingers after love has shifted, the tug-of-war between memory and detachment, and the restless contemplation that comes with choosing a direction.
Rather than focusing on any individual experience, the piece mirrors a universal crossroads—the place where hope and hesitation meet. The emotional tension, the lingering questions, the sense of standing still while the heart pulls in two directions—these are moments many can recognize, even if they take different shapes in different lives.
Winter Rhapsody Volume 5: Moonlit Lanterns offers a broader landscape of themes like these. The tracklist moves through questions of connection, distance, recollection, and the echoes of emotions that stay with us long after circumstances change. Each title hints at a moment of realization, conflict, or clarity—those intersections in life where thought and feeling converge beneath the surface.

With the upcoming music video, I wanted to offer a visual extension of that emotional pause—the moment suspended between two possible futures. The instrumental form brings out subtler shades of the story, making space for listeners to interpret the crossroads as their own.
As the release date approaches, I’m looking forward to sharing this chapter of the Winter Rhapsody series. Moonlit Lanterns continues my exploration of mood, atmosphere, and emotional storytelling through instrumental interpretation. Whether the themes feel familiar or entirely new, my hope is that the music and visuals offer room for reflection—an invitation to stand at your own crossroads and consider the direction ahead.
