Christopher Louie Poetry’s fifth full-length music album, Volume Five (Goodbye), features 16 original tracks, based on 11 of my poems, centered on themes of letting go and moving on plus 5 bonus tracks offering alternate versions of five of these original poems. The album artwork depicts a young man perfectly dressed in black to grieve over a connection that no longer serves him, as symbolized by a dark red/black rose lit on fire. The doorway to the Universe awaits as he prepares to close the chapter on his way out. The album conveys a subtle message of acceptance, surrender, sacrifice and heartache and the understanding that one should prioritize one’s emotional well-being and know when to move forward from a misaligned connection.
“At A Crossroads” leads this epic poetic farewell journey with its sultry vibe, perfectly setting up the scene for the titular song, “Goodbye”. The decision to part is further expressed by “We Need To Let Each Other Go”.
