You Don’t Realize How Perfect You Are To Me is set to receive its most expansive release yet as a brand-new eight-track EP arriving next Friday, May 28, 2026. Designed not only as a musical reintroduction to one of the most emotionally uplifting pieces across Christopher Louie Poetry’s catalog, the project also serves a larger purpose: the long-awaited release of an official music video for the song.
The original version of You Don’t Realize How Perfect You Are To Me was first released in early 2025 as part of Volume Two (I Miss You). Later that same year, a reimagined version of the track was released alongside the reimagined album Volume Two (I Miss You) Reimagined, offering listeners a more cinematic and atmospheric interpretation of the composition. While both versions are liked by fans, one question continued to surface repeatedly over time: why had there never been an official music video for the song?
The answer comes down to artistic evolution and creative standards. Although the previous releases resonated deeply with audiences, I didn’t think either version was ultimately definitive enough to be released as an official standalone single. This upcoming 2026 remake aims to change that completely. Rather than functioning as another simple alternate version, the new release has been rebuilt specifically for the purpose of accompanying a long overdue official music video for the song. Not just a single official music video—the plan is to release a music video for each of the EP’s main tracks.
Lyrically, the track remains rooted in the poem of the same name, an optimistic piece that celebrates soulmate love. Unlike the darker and more heartbreaking themes that often dominate much of my poetry, You Don’t Realize How Perfect You Are To Me embraces emotional fulfillment, admiration, and gratitude. The poem explores the deep affection one person feels toward their ideal partner, portraying love not as tragedy or longing, but as something rare and fortunate.
Throughout the verses, the speaker reflects on a serendipitous meeting that leaves an unforgettable impression, emphasizing the profound emotional impact their person of interest has on their life. The partner is described with admiration for their beauty, kindness, emotional understanding, and comforting presence, qualities that bring peace, joy, and stability to the speaker’s world. As the poem unfolds, the themes of devotion and emotional completeness become increasingly apparent, with the speaker envisioning a strong and successful relationship built on mutual understanding and unconditional affection.
Ultimately, the poem captures the essence of a pre-destined love, portraying the beloved as a rare and precious gift whose presence inspires unwavering devotion. Several fans have expressed that this poem remains one of their favorite works precisely because of how different it feels from my other more melancholic and emotionally devastating material. Rather than focusing on heartbreak, grief, or emotional collapse, the piece celebrates the fortuity of meeting someone who feels perfect in every possible way — a soulmate who checks every box and transforms life through their presence alone.
The newly announced EP expands upon those themes through four distinct musical interpretations of the same lyrical foundation. Of the eight tracks featured on the project, the opening song, “Gaia,” serves as the official 2026 reimagined version of the original composition. Carrying the same familiar melody first introduced in 2025, “Gaia” preserves the emotional identity of the original track while elevating its production, atmosphere, and cinematic presentation for a new era.
The remaining three main tracks — “Aphrodite,” “Athena,” and “Artemis” — are not simply remixes, but full-scale reboots that each introduce their own entirely unique tune, melody, and sonic identity. While the lyrical themes remain consistent throughout, every version explores a different emotional texture and musical direction, allowing the composition to evolve in multiple ways while retaining its central message of soulmate devotion and emotional fulfillment. At the end of the day, these are love songs, so every track is crafted with that intention at its core — built around a romantic atmosphere, memorable melodies, and emotionally expressive vocal delivery. The production across these tracks intentionally draws from the nostalgic textures of 80s and 90s love ballads infused with retro and new wave music — a fusion of sounds that captured romance in a way that feels largely absent from today’s love songs, and one I wanted to revive.
Completing the EP are four instrumental renditions corresponding to each of the four primary tracks. These instrumentals allow the production, arrangement, and cinematic atmosphere of the compositions to stand on their own, offering listeners a deeper appreciation for the musical craftsmanship behind each reinterpretation.
