Whispers Of Memories

I love you, and I wish I could tell you
but you’re too far to hear what I say.
I’d whisper them to the winds that blew
so that they’d carry those words your way.

From lands to oceans they’d scatter through
like blown dandelions they’d float away;
Spinning, soaring and twirling as they flew;
They’d drift in the air like a dancing ballet.

The gentle soul that I once knew
is no longer with me today.
I’d tell the butterflies how much I miss you
so they could tell you without delay.

I’d also sing to the birds that flew
the messages I want them to relay.
I wish that they could bring you news
to let you know that I’m doing okay.

My love for you is still pure and true
same as they once were back in those days.
I am still not completely over you;
Memories of you are on constant replay.

They’re remnants of good times I once knew
before we went our separate ways;
You were the love I tirelessly pursued
but carelessly let slipped away.

Now there’s no way to get a hold of you
but I hope you’re happy and well everyday.
I wonder if you miss me like I do;
These memories of you will never fade.

Whispers of the memories of us two
and the intimate things I want to say,
I hope they’ll find their way to you
to bring you back to me someday.
