I Underestimated How Important You Are In My Life
I lost you, and this I know,
and now you exist only in my mind.
I looked for you everywhere I go,
I wondered if you missed the one you left behind.
It’d been so many years ago
when you said our hopes and dreams misaligned.
If there’s another chance, I would show,
that you are indeed my rarest find.
I shouldn’t have ever let you go,
I took you for granted, I was blind.
Now I suffered a massive blow;
I wish our paths will intertwine.
You were a lesson that helped me grow;
When I was with you, you helped me shine.
And now without you, I’m at my low.
So many regrets by my own design.
When I think of you, my tears overflow;
I wish I could go back in time
to fix what I should those years ago
to once again make you mine.
I still love you so much though,
without you here, I’d feel deprived.
I underestimated, ‘cause I didn’t know,
how important you are in my life.
And now it may be too late to show,
that I intend to return your love in kind.
If you still haven’t completely let go,
my heart is yours if you’re so inclined.
