I Miss You

I missed you, and if only you knew,
my love hadn’t changed since you walked away.
Much time had passed but it only grew,
and became stronger with each passing day.

I could never fall out of love with you,
nor could I understand why I feel this way.
Soul wrenching when our paths split in two;
A piece of me had been ripped away.

The aching in my chest only grew
as memories consumed me everyday.
Sleepless nights were spent pining for you;
Lost in remembrances of those wonderful days.

Haunted by lingering thoughts of us two
where your voice echoed to reconvey
the laughter and the joy that I once knew
before you left me to my dismay.

Those haunting dreams so hard to subdue
often found me tumbling in disarray.
There was nothing more that I could do
to keep you when you didn’t want to stay.

A wave of melancholy often ensues
and I suspect that karma’s at play;
Perhaps these heartaches are karmic dues
that I was fated to repay.

An insatiable craving and yearning for you
occupied my mind after you went away.
Those beautiful memories of us two
had me longed for your return someday.

If you’ve moved on and accept that we’re through,
then I have nothing more to say;
But if there’s hope that I can still be with you,
may God reunite us, this I pray.
