The journey of heartbreak is rarely straightforward, and sometimes, it leaves us numb in ways words alone can’t fully capture. My upcoming 3-track EP, I Don’t React When People Mention You, dives deeply into that emotional space, exploring the quiet devastation that follows the sudden departure of someone once loved. This EP will soon be available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more, offering listeners a way to immerse themselves in its somber, melancholic, and haunting atmosphere.
Two of the vocal tracks from this EP already have their music videos released on my official YouTube channel, @ChristopherLouiePoetry, and they set the tone for the entire project. The EP itself is a reimagining of the original song from Volume Four (Broken), released earlier in 2025. This new version was carefully aligned with the emotional weight and cinematic mood of the videos, emphasizing the darkness and quiet despair of the poem’s narrative.
The tracks explore the aftermath of one-sided love—the confusion, the betrayal, and the emotional emptiness that follows when someone you care for leaves unexpectedly. The poem at the center of this work reflects on the struggle to let go, even the act of releasing a person’s name from memory, as part of the process of healing. It ultimately moves toward a subtle transformation, a space where reminders of that lost love no longer provoke reaction, but instead reveal acceptance and the quiet acknowledgment of change within oneself.
