“Second Chances” is a heartfelt poem I penned as a beacon of hope for anyone who has known the rare beauty of true love—only to watch it slip away, whether through pride or the trials that test every relationship. It speaks to the belief that when love is real, it deserves to endure—even through the storms. This piece reminds us that true love is not always perfect, but it is always worth fighting for, and sometimes, all it needs is another chance.
The poem explores how learning from our past can pave the way for a deeper, more meaningful connection. It holds fast to the romantic ideals of fate and soul connection—those moments when someone remains on your mind long after they’ve gone, hinting at something greater, something meant. While second chances require courage and commitment, they can lead to something even stronger if the love remains genuine.

Originally released on my second album, Volume Two (I Miss You), “Second Chances” returns with a fresh voice—this time, a male vocal—adding new dimension to the emotion behind the lyrics. For the music video, I didn’t begin with a storyboard or fixed idea. Instead, I allowed each stanza of the poem to speak its own visual language. Whatever image appeared in my mind as I sat with each verse became the heartbeat of the scene.
The video opens and closes with a shared moment: two shooting stars drawn toward one another, symbolizing the inevitable reunion of two souls fated to meet again.
The moon, which recurs throughout the video, was chosen for its rich, mysterious symbolism. In tarot, the Moon is one of the 22 Major Arcana cards—believed to represent pivotal, transformative moments in life. It’s often associated with uncertainty, illusion, fear, and the quiet pull to trust one’s inner voice. This symbolism mirrors the emotional journey within the poem: the character wrestles with doubt and hesitation about reaching out for reconciliation, yet deep down, his heart urges him to follow his intuition—believing that doing so is the right path forward.

Storms, rain, and thunder break through the visuals as metaphors for emotional upheaval—the chaos that can precede a breakup, or the inner turmoil of reaching back out. These scenes coincide with the poem and song lyrics that offer comfort and conviction:
You’ll be stronger when together
if you protect each other from harm.
If you really love each other
you can weather any storm.
As the storm passes, gentle imagery emerges: a sunrise behind a field of yellow flowers, a butterfly unfurling from its cocoon—symbols of rebirth, transformation, and the hope that comes with a new beginning. A quiet reminder that, sometimes, what’s lost can still be found—if you’re brave enough to believe in second chances.
Thank you for watching and for walking through the symbols and soul of this video with me. If the message resonated, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes stories and creative journeys still to come.
