The Love Of Jonathan Harker

PROLOGUE

In a creative reimagining of Bram Stoker’s classic tale, the narrative is presented through the perspective of Jonathan Harker, who writes a chilling letter to his beloved Mina. He recounts his unsettling experiences after arriving in Transylvania to meet a mysterious Count. Harker describes his fear of being trapped, the attempted seductions by the Count’s brides, and the horrifying realization that the Count has no reflection. Despite the danger surrounding him, his love for Mina motivates him to seek an escape from the sinister clutches of the Count, whom he suspects may lead him to his demise.

The Love Of Jonathan Harker

Dearest Mina, I tremble as I write…
Since I arrived here that first night
My journey started in a carriage
There’s one friendly lady
a cross pendant she gave me
to keep me safe was her message.

I had to travel to Romania
to a province called Transylvania
through the Carpathian Mountains.
I was to meet a special client
to close out a deal in silent
he was a Count or somethin’.

I missed you so much my dear
I think I’m in grave danger here;
The Count just wouldn’t let me leave.
His brides tried to seduce
but I assure you it was no use
It’s disturbing how I’ve been deceived.

The other night as I was shaving
I found it utterly amazing
that the Count cast no reflection.
I cut myself as I was startled
and the Count quickly snarled
but the cross pendant was my protection.

I swear I was a piece of meat
he resisted the urge to eat;
I can see why he won’t set me free.
He wanted me to write three letters
and if I didn’t know any better
this will likely be the death of me.

Tomorrow during the day
I’ll risk my life to find a way
to escape from this terrifying place.
The only thing that keeps me going
is the motivation of knowing
that I will one day again see your face.
