I’m releasing a 60-second preview of “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” Track 7 from Winter Rhapsody Volume 2: Echoes of Medina, available now as an early listen ahead of the album’s December 26 release.
Echoes of Medina is an all-instrumental work and my second release in that form, belonging to a six-album instrumental series that spans my entire music catalog. The album draws strongly from Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Moroccan musical influences, creating a reflective and emotionally grounded backdrop for the themes carried throughout the record.
“The Heart Wants What It Wants” is based on my poem of the same name—a meditation on devotion, memory, and emotional permanence. The poem moves through time quietly, observing how love can remain intact even after separation, unanswered questions, and the passing of years. It reflects a heart that does not forget, replace, or diminish what it once held true.
Within Winter Rhapsody Volume 2: Echoes of Medina, this track occupies a deeply introspective space. It speaks to emotional loyalty and the way certain connections become sealed within us, untouched by logic or circumstance.
