The Distance Between Us Kills Me

We may be an ocean apart,
but rest assured that I’m not far.
Close your eyes and feel me in your heart,
because we are under the same stars.

I miss you more than you miss me
so rest assured that it’s not the end.
When I dream, it’s us I see
and a future where we’ll meet again.

You are someone that’s hard to forget,
and no one can take your place.
I knew you were the one when we first met
and I was in trouble when I saw that face.

If I was near you, l would make you see
to you no one can compare.
But the distance between us kills me,
or else you’d see how much I care.

I’d lift your spirits in every way
and always give you reasons to smile,
and ensure you feel loved with hugs everyday,
and shower you with poems that I compile.

Have faith that we’ll find each other again;
Don’t lose hope and you will see;
Wish I was there to hold your hands;
The distance between us kills me.
