Our Secret Place (Ethereal – Instrumental), Track 3 from “Winter Rhapsody Volume 3: Crystal Reverie”

by Christopher Louie

“Our Secret Place (Ethereal – Instrumental)” is one of the most heartfelt pieces on Winter Rhapsody Volume 3: Crystal Reverie. Though the album is entirely instrumental—led by harp and flute, supported by piano and other string instruments—the emotional core of this track is shaped by the poem it’s based on, Our Secret Place.

The poem follows a couple who once shared a private sanctuary of their own—a hidden realm where love felt effortless, magical, and enduring. It was a place where whispered dreams, intertwined fingers, soft kisses, and tender conversations created an atmosphere untouched by the outside world. Everything there felt enchanting, from the scent of imagined blossoms to the sense of boundless closeness that made time seem irrelevant.

But that world dissolves when the relationship ends. One person moves on, and the sanctuary that once belonged to them both becomes nothing more than a cherished memory for the one left behind. The poem lingers in that ache: the longing for a place that can no longer be revisited, except through remembrance.

Through the instrumental track, I aim to reflect that blend of beauty and melancholy—the serenity of love at its most intimate and the quiet sorrow of a world lost too soon.
