Let Me Bloom For One Day

PROLOGUE

This poem explores the emotional struggle of an individual trapped in a stifling relationship characterized by constant complaints and arguments. Yearning for peace, they seek refuge in tranquil lavender fields, hoping to escape the turmoil of their partner’s bickering. As they immerse themselves in nature, they wish to let go of past conflicts and find solace from the recent fight that plagues their mind. The poem expresses a desire for a single day of tranquility, urging their partner to remain silent to prevent further distress, allowing the narrator the chance to experience a moment of inner peace and personal growth amidst chaos.

Let Me Bloom For One Day

I would like to lay low,
next to where the lavenders grow,
sinking into hues of blue as the flowers press against my skin.
Let all the bad things and worries,
within the river of memories,
be carried to a forgotten place by these serene summer winds.

I’d like to forget,
any rain-scented regrets,
brought on by our silly fight during last night’s rain.
You’ve always had your way,
so let me bloom for one day,
and hold your tongue to save us from further pain.
