I Love You Too Late | Official Music Video

by Christopher Louie

“I Love You Too Late” has always been one of the most emotionally resonant stories within Volume Five (Goodbye)—a collection centered around farewells, reflection, and the truths we confront only when something meaningful has already slipped away. Today, I’m proud to share that its official music video is now released on my YouTube channel, @ChristopherLouiePoetry.

This piece follows the journey of someone who didn’t recognize genuine affection until it was no longer theirs to receive. In the poem, the narrator looks back on a connection where warmth, sincerity, and devotion were offered freely, yet met with distance and hesitation. Only once the other person had moved on did the narrator finally understand the depth of what was lost—and the role their silence played in that loss.

The music video brings these themes to life visually, capturing the emotional tension between the past and the present. It reflects the quiet moments where regret becomes unmistakable—the memories that return uninvited, the subtle ache of too-late realizations, and the understanding that some doors close forever, no matter how deeply we wish they hadn’t.

“I Love You Too Late” fits naturally within Volume Five (Goodbye) as a meditation on endings that linger. It speaks to the kind of regret that doesn’t erupt loudly, but settles gently and permanently—a reminder of how important timing is in matters of the heart. The story underscores a universal truth: love must be recognized and honored when it appears, not when it becomes a memory.

The official music video for “I Love You Too Late” is now live on YouTube at @ChristopherLouiePoetry.
I hope it resonates with anyone who has ever understood the value of something only after it was gone.
