“I Lost Myself For A While (Reboot – Instrumental)” is a deeply introspective moment on Winter Rhapsody Volume 3: Crystal Reverie. Like the rest of the album, this track is entirely instrumental—led by harp and flute, supported by piano and other string instruments where needed—but its emotional core comes from the poem it’s based on, I Lost Myself For A While.
This poem explores the quiet devastation that happens when love becomes consuming in all the wrong ways. It delves into the turmoil of sacrificing too much of yourself—your identity, your needs, your priorities—just to hold on to someone. It reflects the way devotion can subtly evolve into neglect: neglecting friendships, suppressing your own desires, abandoning personal goals, and reshaping your entire world around another person.
In writing it, I wanted to confront the uncomfortable truth of what happens when the need for approval becomes stronger than the need for self-respect. The poem captures that psychological unraveling: the resentment that grows in the shadow of self-abandonment, the bitterness that slowly forms when you compromise too much, and the eventual realization that losing yourself for someone else is one of the most painful losses of all.
The track represents the journey of recognizing those signs—of becoming aware of the moment you start disappearing into someone else’s orbit. It’s meant to encourage the reclaiming of your own identity before the relationship leads to emotional self-destruction. Through the instrumental arrangement, I aim to convey the heaviness of that struggle, the clarity that follows, and the quiet empowerment that comes with returning to yourself.
