PROLOGUE

The narrative centers around a pair of lovers who first met by cherry blossom trees, forming a bond that eventually led to separation, though they remained friends. One person still has lingering feelings and wonders if the other revisits their special place. The poem reflects on their initial attraction and deep connection highlighted by shared moments and dreams of a future together. Despite the passage of years and the end of their romantic relationship, memories of their encounter linger. The question, “Have you gone to see the cherry blossoms yet?” serves as a longing invitation to rekindle feelings.

Have You Gone To See The Cherry Blossoms Yet?

By the cherry blossom trees,
where you first met me,
you strolled by and gave me a double take.
Our two eyes met,
how could I forget,
your sincere smile that day at the lake.

The gaze we held,
an attraction felt,
a burning desire to know you well.
Started with small talk,
‘round the lake we walked;
By the end I was under your spell.

We exchanged numbers,
before the night slumber,
I already had our future planned.
That night I dreamt,
of a blessed event,
that we put rings on each other’s hands.

Now years had passed,
though our love didn’t last,
but meeting you was the best thing I’ve done.
Though you’re away,
you’re on my mind all day,
I never doubt that you are the one.

The cherry blossom trees,
always remind me,
of that first time we met.
Do you miss me?
Have you gone to see
the cherry blossoms yet?
