Fallen Petals
My heart cracked and chipped,
that day when you said farewell;
Pieces of it ripped,
like how fallen petals fell
when the rose became unwell.
The heart is now bruised;
There isn’t much left to say;
The mind is confused.
Why did you leave me that day?
My world is now dark and grey.
The rose lost color;
Broken and full of disdain;
May not recover
from this overwhelming pain;
Soulless, lifeless, it remains.
When you said goodbye
the rose stopped feeling special.
It began to die;
Is now an empty vessel
with its dead fallen petals.
