“A Promise Kept” was one of those stories that refused to stay silent.
What began over a year ago as a poem slowly transformed into a song—and now, into something far larger: a full winter narrative told across seven reimagined tracks. With the release of “A Promise Kept (Reimagined)”, I’m honored to officially unveil the Official Music Video, now released on Christopher Louie Poetry’s Official Artist Channel (OAC) on YouTube @ChristopherLouiePoetry.
This EP, “A Promise Kept,” arrives tomorrow, December 19, and it feels less like a release and more like the closing of a long-held breath.
At the heart of this project is a fictional story—two childhood best friends, a promise made beneath an old oak tree, and a love separated far too soon. It’s a tale shaped by snow, memory, silence, devotion, and heartbreak. In many ways, winter itself becomes a character—watching, waiting, preserving what time tries to erase.
The promise was whispered with innocence:
“I’ll love you forever, if fate allows.”
Fate, of course, had other plans.
This EP revisits that promise from every possible angle, refracting it through different sounds, emotions, and seasons of the heart. Across seven tracks, the story evolves—sometimes tender, sometimes aching, sometimes resolute in its quiet endurance.
