A New Creative Chapter: Reimagining My Favorite Songs With High-Quality Music Videos

by Christopher Louie

For the last year or so, my music has lived in that space where poetry and cinema overlap — stories told through melody, metaphor, and emotion. Lately, I’ve felt a calling to take that further. Today, I’m excited to announce a new long-term project: I’m remaking high-quality, cinematic music videos for some of my favorite tracks from across my catalogue.

What started as a vision for one song has now grown into an artistic mission that touches everything I create.

It All Started (Again) With “A Promise Kept”

This journey began with the release of my new 7-track EP, which features three rebooted versions of one of my most defining songs: A Promise Kept.
The new versions — Revenant, Oath, and Pledge — represent different shades of the same emotional promise, and I chose Revenant as the first single to receive its own dedicated music video.

“A Promise Kept” has always been the track people resonate with the most. It carries its own weight, its own emotional pull. And honestly, it’s the perfect song for creating a mini-film — a story that unfolds visually just as strongly as it does lyrically.

Over time, I’ve already released two music videos for it.
The first leaned into a more illustrated, cartoonish style.
Months later, I released a second version — one made with hyperrealistic depictions that felt so much more alive. That second version moved me deeply.
Even though the images didn’t move, the emotion did.

But I always knew there was one limitation: they were still static.

I promised myself that one day, I would recreate “A Promise Kept” as a fully live-action music video.
And now that today’s advanced AI tools finally allow this to be possible, I can bring that vision to life.

For both the original Volume Three version of “A Promise Kept” and the new reimagined track from the EP, I reused the same core scenes from Revenant to build a consistent visual world — the one that has always belonged to this song in my own imagination.

Reimagining the Music to Elevate the Visuals

Once I started working on these videos, I realized how many other songs I wanted to revisit — pieces that have always held special meaning for me and for listeners.

Some of my all-time favorites that are on the list for this treatment include:

  • Goodbye

  • Our Fate Was Written In the Stars

  • Broken

  • You Were But a Fleeting Dream

  • I Am Far From Perfect But I’ll Be Perfect for You

  • The Timing Just Wasn’t Right For Us

  • At a Crossroads

But before creating visuals for some of these tracks, I felt the music itself needed to evolve. The original versions didn’t fully capture the emotional potential of the stories.

So I started reimagining several songs — keeping their core melodies intact, but rebuilding their sound to match the cinematic worlds I wanted to create.

This included:

  • I Left You Before You Could Leave Me

  • Unrequited Love

  • The Love of a Time Traveler

  • The Love of the Sun and the Moon

Each remake gave me a version that finally felt worthy of the story it represents.

A Long-Term Vision for My Entire Catalogue

What began with one music video has become something much bigger: a creative renaissance for my entire catalogue.

My goal is simple:
Gradually remake more of my favorite songs into full, high-quality music videos — some live-action, some blending realism and fantasy — but all crafted with intention and heart.

This is not a quick project.
It’s something I’ll be building piece by piece, song by song, story by story.

And now I want to include you in that process.

Tell Me Which Song You Want to See Next

If there’s a track of mine — old or new — that you’d love to see reimagined as a cinematic music video, let me know in the comments. Your feedback always shapes what I create next.

This new chapter is only just beginning, and I’m excited to bring these stories to life the way I’ve always envisioned them: with depth, emotion, and visuals that resonate just as powerfully as the music.
