A Missed Connection

PROLOGUE

In a gym, two strangers experience a brief yet significant connection. One is confident and flirty, while the other is shy and unsure, leading to an awkward but memorable encounter. Their interactions involve compliments and encouragement during workouts, creating a spark of attraction. Despite the initial chemistry, the moment slips away as one disappears without a proper goodbye, leaving the other feeling regretful about a missed opportunity. The conclusion is a hopeful plea to reconnect, emphasizing that the fleeting connection has left a lasting impression. The narrator reflects on a daily search for the stranger, yearning for a second chance.

A Missed Connection

I was working out when you walked by.
You smiled as you looked in my eyes.

At first I thought that my form wasn’t right;
so I lowered my weights to make them light.

As I went on, the next thing I knew…
Working out next to me was you.

You lifted, rested, and turned your head my way.
“Nice arms” was unexpected of you to say.

I was lost for words; You got up to spot me.
Hard to focus, your eyes were all I could see.

“Come on baby just two more!” you said.
Baby? – had me laughing in my head.

I thanked you, and gave you a smile.
then left but watched you for a while.

You followed me without a word.
I tried to speak but couldn’t be heard.

You suddenly disappeared, not a word for me.
I just lost something good! A missed opportunity.

I went back to the gym since; not a day did I miss.
I lost you but write me if you’re reading this!
